Hi Guys! Feel free to connect today and learn more about Porta! Can you tell us more about the creation of Porta and what is the problem that you mentioned?
At Porta we are working to accelerate the transition from Web 2.0 to Web 3.0. To do this, we develop solutions that are specifically designed to solve the current friction problem in the blockchain space – which is slowing down the transition.
Porta means “gateway” in Latin and the reason we chose this name is because it fits perfectly with our vision of being the standard gateway to the blockchain for new and experienced Web 3.0 users by developing products that which is a seamless and intuitive experience for the decentralized network.
Can you briefly introduce your CEO Shane to us? What’s its story that goes as far back as you wish?
My name is Shane Benjamin, I am an experienced blockchain developer with experience working on different technical levels of the blockchain. I started working in the crypto / blockchain space in mid-2017. I started as a Solidity Smart Contract Developer built on top of Ethereum. Then I created a PAO network with Parity for a company I worked for in 2018.
And from then on, I was a blockchain architect on a project at Ofcom (a government regulator based in the UK) where we’re building a blockchain with Hyperledger to build a blockchain to manage phone numbers for the UK telecommunications industry.
My experience at all of these different levels has shown me that there is still a lot to do if we want Web 3.0 to go mainstream and decided to use my knowledge to develop Porta and drive this transition forward.
Could you please explain the most important things about Porta to us?
Porta’s overall vision is to create a reality where everyone has access to the best of privacy, security and capabilities in a Web 3.0 world.
Our mission is to provide everyone with access to blockchain products designed with simplicity and user experience as the main factors. We aim to provide non-technical and crypto newbies with access to the blockchain through seamless and well-integrated Web 3.0 products.
This applies to DeFi, NFTs and all other future decentralized products – the user experience is key and that is our focus at Porta.
What makes Porta unique compared to your competitors?
The fact that we are a product centric blockchain company, where the end user and their experience with the blockchain, its applications, and not just the financial return, is at the fore. We firmly believe that design, experience, focus on quality, mission and community are what defines a 20 year old company. Our competitive advantage is that we build for the present while focusing on the future.
If you could tell us something about Porta’s achievements to date, please tell us what you are most proud of.
Early in the second quarter of 2021, we completed a $ 1.5 million fundraiser along with a successful IDO on Poolz.
Building a global team from day one has been a pleasure driving blockchain development and product suite forward.
Now give us a brief overview of the future of Porta. For example, what new things would you like to bring to life and what will Porta mean?
We will start our blockchain testnet in the third quarter of 2021 and our blockchain mainnet for the fourth quarter of 2021.
This will be the first step in our journey towards a fully decentralized web.
During this time we will also work on partnerships and community building to make the project better known. Also, develop the ecosystem, get more developers to build and integrate with the Porta network.
We’re also working on Porta Pass, which will allow users to seamlessly access and interact with decentralized products on the Porta network.
We want to start our developer program with a view to 2022. As well as listing on other exchanges to help with the acceptance of tokens.
Along with a simple login solution that gives users an easy way to identify themselves on the Porta network without revealing unnecessary personal information.
